IOS 8 has been officially launched by Apple in conjunction with the introduction of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. It also comes with several new features; iOS 8 also provides improved performance of the Siri voice assistant application.
Siri lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back.
Siri is one of the peaks of the newer Apple devices works, but if you have an older iPhone or iPod, you may feel left out in the cold. Do not lose hope! There are options for any device user, ranging from third-party applications to jail break your phone and installing a Siri port.
It understands what you say. It know what you mean
Talk to Siri as you would to a person. Siri will reply "I found a number of pizza restaurants near you." What about sushi? "Siri will remember only asked about restaurants, so look sushi restaurants in the area.
Apple is working with automakers to integrate Siri in control systems selected voice. Through the voice command button on the steering wheel, you can make Siri questions without looking away from the road. With Free Eye feature, ask Siri to call people, select and play music, listen and compose text messages, use maps and get directions, read your notifications, find calendar information, add reminders and more
After opening of the iPhone 4S last week, Siri was one of the most talked about features. There is only one drawback to Siri: Unless you're thinking of upgrading to iPhone 4S, the feature is out of reach. And Siri assistant-application in which Siri is based (and which Apple acquired last year) has already disappeared from the App Store; the application will stop working on October 15th, so Siri Assistant users face a potentially existing even future silence. Not to worry, though, the iPhone 4 and 3GS owners need not miss out on the fun-voice control.
Dragon Go
Nuance's Dragon Go app underwent an update last month to deliver a much improved voice service to users. The free app works on all iPhones and third-or fourth-generation iPod touch (if you use an external microphone). You can also help call a taxi, find good restaurants nearby, and watch movies.
Google Search
Speech recognition plays an important role in mobile search tool Google. Instead of typing a search query Google, Google Search allows voice commands to search. The application also operates phone proximity sensor; just pick up the phone to your ear and talk to search...
Vlingo
Using voice commands, users can dictate an email, text message, tweet or Facebook status, make a call, find a location, or search the web. When spoken to, the application sends the voice command to Vlingo's servers, returning the answer in text form. The free app provides basic search functionality; for $ 10, you can add email and text message dictation.
Voice Camera Pro
Unlike previous applications, Voice Camera Pro is specifically designed to help with a native iPhone application: the built-in camera. Instead of tapping around the normal camera app, Voice Camera Pro uses fairly obvious voice commands to launch the camera application, take a picture, see the photo library and share photos.
Voice Control
The native Voice Control feature should really be given a little more credit—it’s not only good for calling people hands-free, but can also FaceTime contacts (on the iPhone 4) and control your music. Voice Control can additionally list artist names, shuffle playlists, skip tracks, or play music similar to the current song playing.
