Nixie is a camera-equipped quadcopter designed to follow the user around taking pictures and videos on command, while conveniently wrapping around the wrist to form a bracelet when not in use.
Called Nixie, the quadcopter was created by inventor Christoph Kohstall as a way for people to photograph themselves without fiddling with complex camera setups.

According to Kohstall, it is aware of where the user is located, making it an ideal photography tool for people who want a unique way to capture action. Nixie is just one of the finalists in Intel's Make it Wearable challenge, a competition between inventors to find unique wearable technology that can be used to improve everyday life.
The selfie is officially an international phenomenon. Enter Nixie, the tiny quadcopter that aims to evolve the concept by taking the camera out of your hands and into the air. The idea is fairly straightforward – take a tiny drone, fit it with a swiveling camera and have it follow the user around capturing photos or video. The Nixie drone in its prototype form Flight will be fully automatic, without the need for manual input, and the drone will return to the user when finished.
One of the finalists in Intel’s “Make it wearable” challenge has decided to take a small quadcopter and turn it into a bracelet, making it so you always have a floating selfie camera nearby.
The people responsible for this effort have a history of making viral quadcopter related videos. You may remember the quadcopter made entirely of chocolate, or that wedding where the rings were delivered via quadcopter.
