A new version of the Samsung Chromebook 2 is now available for pre-order on Samsung.com and will be widely available the week of October 20 this year, the device maker has announced. Inside, the new 11.6 inch Chromebook 2 (XE500C12-K01US model) runs an Intel Celeron processor instead of Samsung's own Exyno 5 octa and comes in black or white and while the 13 inch (1,920x1,080 display ) is a muted grey with weighing 2.5 pounds and the 13 inch weighing 3.0 pounds

Other features include Intel HD Graphics, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 ac, a full HDMI port, 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 port and a microSD card slot. For local storage, there's a 16 GigaByte (SSD), but Samsung expects you to moved to cloud storage alternative like Google Drive. Samsung has introduced a “Get Help” button in the latest Chromebook 2. The button much like Amazon's "Mayday," which can connect users with folks at a Samsung support center, who will video chat them and help them suss out ChromeOS or the Chromebook it's running on. The Chromebook 2's keyboard and trackpad, however, are solid.

The previous Samsung Chromebook 2 had really good battery life: up to 8 hours on a single charge (according to the company's promotional materials). During my testing, on a complete charge, the Samsung Chromebook 2 lasted a little over 8 hours with the Chrome web browser open at all times.
