Toshiba Satellite Click 2 review, On Tuesday (yesterday) the company present its new Windows 2-in-1 laptop-tablet hybrids with the entry-level Toshiba Satellite Click 2 and the performance driven Satellite Click 2 Pro. The Pro boasts even slimmer dimensions at 0.43 inches (tablet) and 0.78 inches (with keyboard) respectively. The Click 2 Pro is also quite heavy, both as a laptop, at 4.8 pounds (2.17 kilograms) and one of the heaviest convertible laptopseven compared to equally sized as a tablet.

The screen portion of the Click 2 Pro is about a half-pound heavier (2.3 pounds) than the Surface Pro 3 is without its keyboard, the Click 2 retains the bulky weight of its predecessor. The Click 2 Pro’s keyboard will feature backlighting while the Click 2 will not. Each Click 2 employs a different method of attaching/detaching the tablet.  The entry-level Click 2 uses the sliding the quick-release tab seen on the original Click. As expected, the Click Pro 2 displayed more definition. The Click 2 Pro will come in two flavors: Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7.

Toshiba sent its 13.3-inch Satellite Click 2 so we could find out. A 13.3 inch tablet will be big and heavy at best. Windows 8.1 is well suited to touchscreens, and 13.3 inches of screen allows for a big onscreen keyboard that’s pleasant to type on (if only the physical keyboard was as good).  This certainly seems evident with the Toshiba Satellite Click 2.  One of the most welcomed additions for the Satellite Click 2 is the device’s new frameless TruType keyboard. The Click 2’s dock appears to be major upgrade over the original Satellite Click, which suffered from an unresponsive keyboard. The Click 2 Pro’s screen is fairly bright, outputting 284 lux at maximum settings in our tests. Some laptops and tablets have brighter screens (Dell’s XPS 15, for instance, hit 400 lux). But the Click 2 Pro’s panel delivers above-average brightness. While the screen on HP’s Spectre 13T X2 doesn’t get quite as bright as the Click 2 Pro, it produces a broader 99 % of sRGB, and 75 percent of the Adobe RGB spectrums.

The Click 2 Pro also offers a different hinge mechanism. Unlike the sliding-lock on the Click 2, the Pro variant uses a push mechanism to detach its display. While the push mechanism makes it easier to detach the display, the Click 2 Pro proved just as awkward when connecting to the dock. As expected with the higher resolution, the Click 2 Pro provides crisper image quality and similarly robust color contrast. As with other high-end Toshiba laptops the 2-in-1 also provide Harmon Kardon speakers and also powered by a 4th generation Intel Core™ processor, 802.11ac Wi-Fi

Like what we see? Last year's Toshiba Satellite Click was a product we did not particularly like at all. It was a budget-feeling 13-inch detachable hybrid, The Click 2 has been on sale for a while and as a result it can be picked for a cool $500 (about £310, AU$569,or 5 million IDR in indonesia)  available only at Best Buy
