WHAT IS LOTUS NOTES? 

Lotus Notes is a database application system (database) distributed document oriented . Lotus Notes application is an implementation of the data and programs that support the business functions and usefulness. Every Lotus Notes application consists of at least one database. Each Notes database has several basic components, namely documents, forms and field, as well as the views and folders, and also a groupware that connects the user with another user in an integrated system, with technological collaboration, communication, and coordination through the Domino server.

Lotus Notes was actually inspired from the name of a French scientist that Plato Notes. Lotus Notes was first developed by Ray Ozzie and Mitch Kapoor. IBM sees the potential of this application and the  Lotus Notes application eventually purchased by IBM. Now, lotus notes has reached version 8.5.

Provides a collection of reference information that can be accessed online and can be updated if necessary

TRACKING

This application is designed to replace the activities that require a lot of paper into electronic activity where users can contribute to the activity, track the progress of data making reports.

DISCUSSION

Is a group communication tool. This application is designed to improve face-to-face by lifting ideas from others and provide feedback without having to go through a restricted meeting place and time
